The South Charlotte Sports Report is excited to present our 7th Annual Summer Basketball Camp. With a commitment to proper fundamental instruction and game play, we believe our summer camp is one of the top basketball camps in the area. Over the last six years, The South Charlotte Sports Report has hosted over 40 basketball camps. With each camp, we see more and more return customers. Our basketball camps focuses on the development of strong basketball fundamentals. Many of our past campers now line the rosters of area high school teams.
Our philosophy on success in basketball revolves around a building a solid fundamental base. Under the leadership of Ardrey Kell High School Head Coach and former Davidson College basketball assistant coach Mike Craft and veteran Youth basketball coach Tripp Roakes we provide a well-qualified staff of coaches to work with your children. Coach Craft is considered by many to be the top high school basketball instructor in the area. Coach Craft led the Knights to an all-time win mark this season. Many of our coaches have been with Coach Craft and our camp for all 40 camps we have held.
The timing of this camp provides a great opportunity for the kids to escape the PlayStation and Xbox Games over the summer and enjoy time on the Basketball Court. Each child will receive instruction on shooting, moving without the ball, dribbling, defense, passing and rebounding. We maintain a low coach to camper ratio allowing the campers to get to know all the coaches on a first hand basis. We also strive to keep campers in the same groups with their friends and other players their age. Our camps are designed to place campers in position to succeed inside the camp and beyond.
In addition to other high school coaches, we will be joined by college athletes from the area that are eager to pass their skills on. Many of these college players once played at the local recreation associations and schools in the area!
This Basketball Camp is also designed to provide players of all ages and abilities the chance to experience success on the basketball court! Each player is placed into a position that will allow for maximum enjoyment of their visit to basketball camp. We will supplement the fundamental instruction and game play with unique basketball challenges and fun contests!
